Founder of Self Place
Meet Fitz-Gerald Cushnie
A guide, teacher, healer, author, and visionary creating spaces for self-discovery, embodied healing, conscious living, and the return to Self.
Fitz-Gerald Cushnie is the founder of Self Place, a holistic healing and self-discovery center created to support people in reconnecting with their inner clarity, emotional truth, body wisdom, spiritual awareness, and capacity for transformation.
Fitz-Gerald Cushnie
Founder, guide, teacher, healer, and creator of Self Place & Sacred Self Sanctuary (nonprofit).
The work he holds
A multidisciplinary approach to healing, awareness, and transformation.
Fitz-Gerald’s work brings together self-discovery, meditation, embodiment, conscious reflection, intuitive healing, and practical inner work. His approach supports people in understanding themselves more deeply, reconnecting with their inner wisdom, and creating more conscious ways of living.
Self-discovery
Helping people return to themselves.
Through reflective guidance, conversation, meditation, and inner inquiry, Fitz-Gerald supports people in reconnecting with their truth, emotional clarity, self-awareness, and inner authority.
Embodiment
Bringing healing into the body.
His work recognizes that transformation is not only mental or spiritual. It also lives in the nervous system, the breath, the body, movement, sensation, and the way people learn to be present with themselves.
Healing practice
Supporting wholeness with compassionate presence.
Fitz-Gerald integrates healing touch, breathwork, meditation, intuitive bodywork, energy awareness, and grounded spiritual support to help people access deeper layers of release, restoration, and connection.
Teaching & frameworks
Creating pathways for conscious living.
His teachings and frameworks support self-awareness, conscious family healing, emotional responsibility, relational growth, inner peace, and a more intentional relationship with life.
Founder of Self Place
He created Self Place as a sanctuary for return.
Self Place was created as a sanctuary for people seeking healing, reflection, embodied practice, and a more conscious way of living.
Self Place, as it exists today, was born from Fitz-Gerald’s vision of a space where people could pause, heal, practice, remember themselves, and reconnect with the deeper truth of who they are. It reflects Fitz-Gerald’s belief that healing is not simply about fixing what is wrong, but about returning to what is whole, wise, and alive within.
Through classes, healing services, private sessions, courses, community offerings, and contemplative practice, Self Place gives form to a larger mission: helping people come back into relationship with themselves, their bodies, their inner knowing, and a more conscious way of living.
The vision
A place for self-discovery
A space where people can slow down, reflect, listen inward, and meet themselves with honesty and compassion.
A place for embodied healing
A place where meditation, yoga, breath, movement, touch, and body awareness support deeper integration.
A place for conscious community
A sanctuary where practice, support, access, learning, and connection can meet in meaningful ways.
Frameworks, teachings & creative work
He creates pathways for self-awareness, healing, and conscious living.
Beyond individual sessions and in-person practice, Fitz-Gerald’s work includes teachings, writings, frameworks, courses, and reflective tools designed to help people deepen their relationship with themselves and live with greater awareness, responsibility, and inner peace.
The deeper body of work
His teachings are designed to help people understand the patterns, stories, relationships, and inner structures shaping their lives.
Fitz-Gerald’s creative work bridges the practical and the spiritual. His frameworks invite people to examine how they relate to themselves, how they show up in family and community, how they hold emotion, how they make meaning, and how they can choose more conscious ways of being.
The intention is not information alone. The intention is integration - helping people turn insight into embodied awareness, compassionate responsibility, healing practice, and lived change.
Self-discovery frameworks
Pathways for understanding the self, clarifying inner truth, recognizing patterns, and reconnecting with personal agency.
Conscious family healing
Teachings that explore family systems, inherited patterns, emotional responsibility, repair, compassion, and generational awareness.
Books, workbooks & reflection tools
Creative resources that support journaling, inner inquiry, meditation, healing practice, and ongoing self-reflection.
Courses & transformational learning
Structured learning experiences that help people move from insight into practice, embodiment, integration, and conscious action.
Explore the learning pathways
Courses, programs, and guided resources extend the work beyond the session room.
Sacred Self Sanctuary
His mission extends beyond the walls of Self Place.
Sacred Self Sanctuary is the nonprofit expression of Fitz-Gerald’s larger vision: making healing, self-discovery, reflection, and compassionate support more accessible.
While Self Place serves as a physical and relational home for practice, Sacred Self Sanctuary expands the mission into community-centered support, education, access, and service. It reflects Fitz-Gerald’s belief that healing should not only be available to those who can easily afford it.
Through this work, the mission becomes both personal and collective — supporting people in returning to themselves while also building pathways for care, dignity, and transformation within the wider community.
Access-centered mission
Healing access
Supporting access to healing-centered offerings, reflection, and emotional support for those navigating financial barriers.
Community care
Creating opportunities for people to receive compassionate guidance, practice, and support within a community-centered mission.
Self-Discovery Saturdays
A no-cost-to-you support offering for people who would benefit from a 30-minute self-discovery support session.
To support healing that is personal, embodied, practical, spiritual, and accessible - especially for those who may otherwise go without care.
The way he guides
Grounded, compassionate, intuitive, and deeply attentive.
Fitz-Gerald’s work is not one-size-fits-all. His guidance meets people where they are, while inviting them toward deeper honesty, self-awareness, embodied presence, and the courage to live in closer alignment with who they truly are.
Presence
He creates space for people to feel seen, heard, and held.
His work begins with presence - listening beneath the surface, honoring the whole person, and creating a safe environment for reflection, honesty, emotion, and inner return.
Depth
He helps people look beneath the pattern.
Fitz-Gerald supports people in exploring the beliefs, emotions, memories, relationships, and inner narratives that shape how they experience themselves and the world.
Embodiment
He invites healing into lived experience.
Insight becomes more meaningful when it can be felt, practiced, integrated, and lived. His guidance supports transformation that moves beyond thought into the body and daily life.
Integrity
He honors each person’s pace, truth, and inner authority.
The work is compassionate and direct, but never forceful. Fitz-Gerald’s approach supports agency, dignity, self-trust, responsibility, and the unfolding of each person’s own wisdom.
Connect with the work
Begin where you are. Return to what is true.
Fitz-Gerald’s work invites people into deeper self-awareness, embodied healing, spiritual reflection, and conscious transformation.
